The Secular Stella Maris Contemplatives (Lay Cloisterites) is a private lay association of Christ's faithful without the intention of becoming an institute of religious life.

The Lay Cloisterites live in the world according to a rule of life, based on the plan of life of the Stella Maris Contemplatives, either eremitic or cenobitic.

The Lay Cloisterites are similar to a lay third order in structure and devotions.  They follow whichever way of life works best for their individual situations.
