Visitors are very welcome to attend the Church for Mass, which
is available every day.
If visitors wish to speak to a Sister, please write or telephone to arrange
an appointment or enquire at the convent entrance.
Guests
A small number of Guest rooms are available in the convent
Guestwing for retreats, priests/religious, and those exploring their vocation. Towels and meals are provided.
Guests will find it useful to bring a mirror and an alarm clock with
them. If you have long hair please bring your own hair-dryer.
Please note that to preserve the peace of the Guestwing there is no television
or radio. There is no wi-fi and some mobile networks (such as O2) do not work in this area. Guests who bring their own music
equipment are asked to use them only with earphones.
If you would like to spend some time in the beautiful, prayer-filled
surroundings of the monastery (with access to the Church for Mass and prayer, if desired) please write to the monastery.
If you are attracted by the religious life and feel it may be for you,
please contact the sisters. They will be happy to provide information or speak to you about religious life and their community.
How to find the monastery
The monastery is on a small hill on the edge of the town
of Ellesmere, very close to lake Mere. A large lawn and driveway separate it from the road and preserves it's peace.
There is a sign at the entrance of the driveway, displaying the times of Mass.
On the lawn is a large white cross. A second cross can be seen on the outside of the Church, and a round flowerbed with a
statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus also confirms that you have found the right place.
Trains:
The closest local (small) train station is called Gobowen (6 miles away)
.
The nearest main station is Shrewsbury, which can be reached from London Euston via Birmingham.
Bus:
A bus from Shrewsbury (which takes about 45 minutes) stops right outside
the convent. An Extern Sister might be able to meet you.
