Faithful to Carthusian observance is the praying of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary (LOBVM) before the regular Liturgy of the Hours (LOTH).

 

The Invitatory is taken from the LOBVM; the Office of Readings from the LOTH.

 

Morning, Evening and Night Prayer (Prime, Vespers, and Compline) are prayed with the LOBVM first, then the LOTH.

 

The "Little Hours" are taken from the Little Office of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (LOSHJ).

 

Whenever circumstances dictate, the LOSHJ can be substituted for the entire day's offices.

 

On Fridays and Saturdays, the Friday office in the LOBVM is to be prayed, while keeping company with the Mother of Sorrows.

 

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed during the Hour of Divine Mercy--3 to 4 p.m.  This is in conjunction with one of the Little Hours, which can be prayed before or after the chaplet.

 

The Salve Regina Procession is after Night Prayer (Compline).
