The Monks and Nuns of St. Dismas is a community intended for prisoners, whether freed or incarcerated.
The community will be Ecclesia Dei Traditionalist, and will have the Latin Tridentine Mass and prayers.
The habit will be a simple grey tunic. For the nuns, their veil will consist of a tall binder with white trim at
the forehead, and black veil. For the monks, they will have a black cowl hood. Both male and female members wear
the St. Dismas medal around the neck.
Prisoners who discern a vocation to the Monks or Nuns of St. Dismas will wear whatever they can with their prison uniform,
depending on the individual system. Medallions or cloth patches will designate the prisoner as a member of the community.
When released from prison, they will go to live in the Priory of St. Mary of Egypt.
Those who have never been incarcerated are welcome to make application, also.
