***A Proposed Charism that will begin as Congregational Recluses for the CAMM/CCMM Medical Division.***

The Religious of St. John Cassian are the cloistered support of the Sisters for the Relief of AIDS.  Under the guidance of the Rule of St. Benedict, they will practice penance and austerity for the sake of bringing homosexuals to God.
 
Through their purity and unity of heart, the Religious of St. John Cassian will make reparation to the Eternal Father for the abomination of homosexual activity.
 
The community will possibly be bi-ritual, but will consist of Mass in the Extraordinary Form adherents.  The chaplet and prayers of the Divine Mercy will receive liberal utilization.  Purity of heart and intention will be paramount for a religious of this community.
 
The habit will be black, with black veil similar to the Cloisterite nuns.  The bodice of the habit will be made in such a way that it will look as if it is divided into four triangles--two black from the sides, two white from the neck and waist.  A St. Benedict crucifix will be worn.

In the spirit of St. John Cassian, let us say with him: "The hunger of fasts does not weary us.  The tiredness of keeping vigil is a delight to us.  The reading and the endless meditation on Scripture are never enough for us.  The unfinished toil, the (spiritual) nakedness (before God), the complete deprivation, the fear that goes with this enormous lonliness, do not frighten us off."
 
"The aim of our profession is the kingdom of God or the kingdom of Heaven.  But our point of reference, our objective, is a clean heart, without which it is impossible for anyone to reach our target."
