a settlement from the trucking company whose truck caused his accident. In the course of Mike's settling in, nurse Dixie
McCall succumbed to heart failure, and Captain Stanley's wife, Ettie, lost her life in a case of constabulary
Betsy's perpetrators were finally apprehended around the same time that her Triple Crown contender mount triumphed in
the Greatest Two Minutes in Sport. The winner's new owner changed the colt's name from Papenfus to Betsy's Revenge,
and went on to win the Triple Crown.
Life seemed to be finally calming down, then Mike decided to build in the Alcove and Shrine. He was at
peace with his decision, but certain other residents were not. . .
