Nuns of Our Lady of America

American Saints

Welcome graphic

***A Proposed Charism that will begin as Congregational Recluses in the CAMM/CCMM Social Division.***

We intend for there to be a cloistered monastery of the Nuns of Our Lady of America as physically close to each state capitol in the U.S. as possible.  Obviously, this means that the NOLAs will more than likely be started in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The nuns will follow the Rule of St. Augustine, and will make the solemn vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, enclosure, and zeal for souls.

Reparation for the sins of lawmakers and the abuse of power will be included in the nuns' perpetual adoration and rosary.

Habit: white tunic; red scapular; white wimple and guimpe; navy blue veil; St. Benedict crucifix around the neck; and black belt with 20-decade St. Benedict rosary.

The community will worship with the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (the TLM).  All prayers will be in Latin.

Patrons of the community will be all North American saints.

We will also entertain the possibility of this community being hermits-in-diaspora, with hermits in as many capitol cities as possible.  A common novitiate will be established for formation.

The Nuns of Our Lady of America were inspired by the visions vouchsafed to Sr. Mildred Mary in Ohio.
