Ministers to the Poor Souls

Welcome Statue of Liberty

***A Proposed Charism that will begin as an active apostolate in the CAMM/CCMM Prisons Division.***

The Ministers to the Poor Souls will not only offer Masses and other prayers for the Poor Souls in Purgatory, but also for souls in distress on Earth.  These priests and brothers will aim for the greatest purity, and practice austerities and penances so that the Evil One will have nothing with which to accuse them when they have a confrontation.
In the spirit of St. John Vianney, the Ministers to the Poor Souls stress the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).  They will also practice a lively devotion to Mary, First Tabernacle; St. Dymphna; St. Philomena; St. Christina the Astonishing; and St. Nicholas of Tolentine (patron of the Poor Souls).

The Ministers' habit will be a white cassock with red buttons (for the Holy Ghost); a St. Benedict crucifix (for its exorcism value); and a wide sapphire blue sash (for Our Lady) with a 20-decade rosary.  A white platter hat will also be worn outdoors.  The footwear will also be white.

The Ministers to the Poor Souls will be bi-ritual, although preferring the Mass in the Extraordinary Form (MEF/TLM).  All prayers will be in Latin.
If an aspirant to this community belongs to a schismatic, sedevacantist, or autocephalous group, deep discernment is highly recommended.  Reconciliation with Rome will be prerequisite to making application.  May the Holy Ghost be your guide.

The Ministers to the Poor Souls is a project of the Cloister Outreach Affiliated New Foundations (CONF).
