***A proposed charism that will begin as Congregational Recluses in the CAMM/CCMM Social Division.***
In response to the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, we propose the Maria Janua Caeli nuns. Under the patronage of Mary,
Gate of Heaven, these nuns will pray for the repose of the souls of those who died on 9/11; for those who espouse terrorism
to achieve their goals; and pray that such an attack will never happen again.
Keeping vigil at Ground Zero; in the vicinity of the Pentagon; and Shanksville, PA, will be one of the
goals of this charism.
In honor of the Rev. Mychal Judge, OFM, Victim No. 1, and a Holy Cross father who died on one of the planes,
the nuns will be Franco-Ignatian. The sisters will be permitted to pray with the public.
The habit will be Poor Clare Colettine, with cranberry tunic, white wimple and guimpe, and navy blue veil.
The Franciscan cord will be worn. The sisters will go barefoot in the convent, but will wear sandals when meeting the
public.
