Ministry-to-Charism

Daughters of St. Mary MacKillop for Indigenous Peoples

Welcome graphic

***A proposed charism that will begin as an active ministry in the Combination Division of the CAMM/CCMM.***

The proposed Daughters of St. Mary MacKillop for Indigenous Peoples will be founded in response to Pope St. John Paul II's call for action on their behalf.

Whether the Aborigines of Australia need assistance, or the descendants of the Maya in Central America, these sisters will be at their service.

The habit will be the same as St. Mary MacKillop's, except white, with a small "AM" monogram on the collar over the heart. A belt will be worn, with rosary suspended from the left side, and crucifix tucked into the belt on the right.

We intend for this proposed community to worship with the Mass in the Extraordinary Form (MEF/EFLR).  However, whatever sacraments are available will have to be considered.

Religious practices will include morning Meditation; Mass; Matins; Vespers; Rosary; Compline; and Salve Procession.  All prayers will be in Latin.

Those discerning this charism as their vocation who are either schismatic; sedevacantist; or a member of an autocephalous church should enter deep discernment before making contact with us.  Reconciliation with Rome is prerequisite.  May the Holy Ghost be your guide.

***Please Note: We are not affiliated with the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart of Australia***
