Ministry-to-Charism

Welcome graphic

***A Proposed Charism that is beginning as a Congregational Recluse for the CAMM/CCMM Sacerdotal Division.

"We are suffering.  Let us go to the Cenacle."

The Daughters of Our Lady of the Cenacle will have the spirituality of St. Therese Couderc, the foundress of the Religious of the Retreat in the Cenacle.

***Please Note: We are not associated with the Religious of the Retreat in the Cenacle***

Formation will be based on the Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales, and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. These religious will embrace humility to the point of being unassuming. The basis will be "profound humility before God and great sweetness toward neighbor," which is the root of Salesian spirituality.

The Cenacles conducted by our DLCs will be located in the inner cities, where professionals and blue collar workers alike can come and spend a few moments with Jesus Hostia, exposed perpetually.

In this day of constant warfare, both within and without, Cenacles are to provide a place of refuge. Had there been a Cenacle in New York City or Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001, their doors would have been wide open to the victims and witnesses alike.

The DLC apostolate may include schools.

The Daughters of Our Lady of the Cenacle will preferably be Ecclesia Dei Traditionalist, utilizing the 1962 Missal, and Latin prayers. However, since religious life is meant to be at the service of the bishop, these sisters will be bi-ritual.

Levels of formation will be: Nova (three months); Postulant (nine months); Novice (two years); Junior Professed (three to five years); and Professed.

The habit will be identical to the original Cenacle garb, with the exception of the veil--the DLC veil will not have a fluted coif, but a headband not unlike that of the St. Cecilia Dominicans.  A St. Benedict crucifix will be worn, and a medallion of Our Lady of the Cenacle will be worn over the heart (where the Passion Sign is worn on the Passionist habit).
