About Us

The Blessed Herman's Network of Autistic Hermits arose from needs expressed by the autistic sub-culture for a specific spirituality.

The Cloister Outreach Coordinator, Gemma, and one of her sons, are both Aspergers high-functioning autistics.  Gemma herself is foundress of an emerging charism of eremitics known as the Reparatrix Anchoresses of Our Lady of the Cloister (Cloisterite Hermits).  The idea for Blessed Herman's Network of Autistic Hermits arose from her experience in founding the Cloisterites.

Since lay associations of the faithful are not possible in the eremitic expression, a network, similar to what is being formed for consecrated diocesan hermits, is being created for the sake of autistics who wish to offer their lives to God eremitically.
