***A Proposed Charism which will emerge as part of the Our Lady of Purity Ministry in the CAMM/CCMM Educational Division***

While virgin males cannot receive the Rite of Consecration of Virgins, the Papal document Provida Mater, which governs secular institutes, covers consecration for others. Therefore, this proposed charism will be a secular institute.

Men practicing "Second Virginity" would make a vow of perpetual chastity.

Priests -- diocesan and order -- would be welcome, as well. They would require their bishop's or superior's permission, as this would be along the lines of a third order. The consecration of one's virginity to the Lord is different from commitments/vows already made.

In the meantime, for support, please consult this list of patron saints for unmarried men:

Please click here for the Patron Saints of Bachelors

Living together under one roof, or in their own homes, depending on their responsibilities, these men will be a witness to society that "virgin" is not a dirty word. The charism has been placed in the CAMM/CCMM Education Division because schools are one place where this example is needed.

Anyone interested is required to become a member of CAMM first, and the Ministry of Our Lady of Purity.
